Fun Family Photo Shoot

I often talk about how photographs have the ability to catch time and keep it. With Ella and Ollie we were able to look back twice, first to Ollie as a very serious baby (in this picture at least) and his smiling sister, and then to Ella on her own. What an absolute joy to see the progress of this charming duo, still beaming together in the studio some years later. Even as little ones, their interactions make for some wonderful photos. Add Mum and Dad into the mix and the smiles are nothing but natural.

We’ve recently added some new prop furniture to the studio, especially aimed at getting kids smiling and really getting into their shoot. Ella and Ollie had fun taking turns on our elephant and unicorn stool, as well as posing with our new mini sofa. Both kids also brought with them a treasured toy; props are a good way to get kids posing and also help shyer children feel more comfortable in a new place.

Cleverly, the siblings also had coordinating outfits for their photographs, which made for some very stylish shots of the pair. When choosing what to wear for your shoot, I recommend avoiding heavy logos and also completely white outfits, which can wash out against the white studio backdrop. If white is your thing, an outdoor shoot might be the thing for you, weather permitting of course!
