Family Photo Shoot at Kinver Edge

Kinver Edge is a truly stunning natural backdrop for an outdoor family photoshoot. This National Trust beauty spot covers more than 600 acres and has many hidden spaces which are perfect for photographs.

Back in September, when the weather was a little more predictable, Ellie got in touch to ask about an outdoor family photoshoot at Kinver Edge as her daughter Dolcie was about to have her first birthday and she thought it was the perfect way to mark the occasion. Along with her husband and Woody the dog we met up and talked about possible locations for the photographs. The family had a favourite spot that they frequented when going for a walk and so it made sense to explore this part of Kinver Edge for their photographs.

After a little uncertainty from Dolcie, some silly hats and bubbles brought out the big natural smiles you can see in the pictures above of her sitting with Woody as well as standing up and peek-a-booing around the tree. Walking just a short distance further up we found a bench to take some pictures on as well as some time for Dolcie to go flying, aided by Dad who played with her throwing her up in the air, much to her delight.

Moving around a little more and Woody the dog, who up until this point had been running around and quite frankly making me exhausted just watching him, came over for his own little pet photoshoot. Picture perfect in every shot, Woody was a natural in front of the camera as you can see, with his lovely brown coat matching beautifully with the changing leaves as Autumn was moving in.

I love capturing outdoor family photoshoots, especially at Kinver Edge as it really is a stunning place to work. The variation throughout the area from dense woodland to heathers, to sandstone rock gives a different set of photographs every time.
