Bodenham Arboretum Family Photo Shoot
Bodenham Arboretum is a beautiful place to visit either alone for a walk or a great place to take the kids for a family day out. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting for fun and for wedding photography a number of years ago, with the 134-acres making for an amazing natural backdrop for photographs.
Last month I got to visit again for work to photograph an Outdoor Family Photo Shoot for a lovely family who were originally from Sri Lanka that were celebrating their 10 year wedding anniversary. Places such as Bodenham are ideal while we are still practicing social distancing as it allows us to easily keep 2m apart throughout.
Bodenham Arboretum offers so many locations for the perfect photo shoot, with 15 pools and thousands of trees including a stunning laburnum tunnel we were spoilt for choice, truth be told.
Utilising the bridges and footpaths was nice for some relaxed family photographs but I always strive to get something a little different and unposed, especially from my outdoor location photo shoots and then it hit me, get the children to race against each other to Mom and Dad, with the added help that it will tire the children out for the parents later (speaking as a parent trust me this is a big help!).
Finally the couple told me about a lovely gazebo they had seen when they visited Bodenham Arboretum last time and so we went in search of it (fortunately they gave us a very helpful map when we arrived so searching didn’t take long).
I would definitely say that Bodenham Arboretum is one of my favourite locations to photograph outdoor portraits at because there is so much scope for a variety of natural backgrounds.
If you’re looking for an outdoor photo shoot please get in touch for more information or message me on Facebook and take advantage of the 20% off offer I have running until the end of September
