Learn Photography with Daniel James Photography
Drum roll please … we’re thrilled to announce the launch of The Ultimate Beginners Guide to Photography which is part of the brand new division of the company Learn at Daniel James Photography which has been created to help those who are looking to learn Photography and Photoshop on a one-to-one level for those looking to learn from a professional in a relaxed environment.
The Ultimate Beginners Guide to Photography is our first course which has been put together as a 7 hour 1 day photography course which covers all the major areas of photography including Aperture, Shutter Speed, ISO, Manual Mode, Semi-automatic Modes, Metering, Flash Lighting, Natural Lighting, Composition, Basic Editing and more.
We know that when you first see a Digital SLR camera it can be a little daunting if you don’t know what some or any of the buttons or switches do and so, like a friendly beacon reaching out to you, you select Automatic Mode and start taking pictures. While this is great in principal as it allows you to take photographs straight away without learning any of the technical parts, in practice it creates a big restriction on your photography and the creativity the camera allows. You’re basically allowing the camera to decide how your photograph looks and a camera is nowhere near as creative as you are!
West Midlands Teaching
Our courses are taught from our shop in Kinver, near Stourbridge in the West Midlands which allows us to use the local countryside as a perfect natural photographic backdrop during the course (weather, time and accessibility allowing).
One-on-One Teaching
1-to-1 teaching with Professional Photographer Daniel James.
One Day Course
TUBGTP is a one day 7 hour course to give you a complete overview of how use your camera confidently in Manual Mode.
Student Forum
Talk photography and enter competitions with fellow students.
All Areas Covered
ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed, Metering, Composition, Basic Editing, Natural Lighting, Flash Lighting and more to introduce you to all of the key components and photographic tools at your disposal with your camera.
This course has been designed to give beginners a comprehensive way to learn photography with a complete overview of their camera as well as showing them how to utilise all of the important features available so that you they jump confidently into photographing in Manual Mode rather than playing it safe and getting the average photographs that your camera has chosen the settings for.
The Ultimate Beginners Guide to Photography has been carefully put together to work as a combination of traditional lecture based teaching along with regular Q&A checkups and Photography Practicals which keep the day interactive as well as giving you the chance to put your learning immediately into practice giving you the best possible way to learn photography and retain the information you’ve learned.
If you’re looking to learn photography but you haven’t got a Digital SLR camera yet then we are able to hire one in for you especially for use during the course so that you can get hands-on straight away. In addition to the one-to-one teaching you’ll gain access to a Student Forum which will grow as the courses develop as an exclusive area to talk to fellow students to discuss your photography as well as take part in meet-ups and monthly competitions to keep adding to and improving your work.
At the end of the course you’ll be given the chance to photograph in Manual Mode as a final practical to put everything you’ve learned during the day into practice and when you’ve proven yourself able to take a photograph in Manual Mode then you will receive a certificate from us to take away as well as a selection of items you can use to practice the skills you’ve learned.
The Ultimate Beginners Guide to Photography is now available and booking from March 2017 priced at £150 for the 7 hour course (lunch is included) and can be booked through our Learn at Daniel James Photography website where it can also be purchased as a Gift Voucher.
